A new heritage walk initiative has mapped a self-guided walking route linking six of Srinagar's Mughal-era gardens, with signage detailing the terraced landscaping principles that shaped their original design.

The project, developed with a local conservation trust, aims to spread tourist footfall beyond the most visited gardens and support smaller sites that have historically received less maintenance funding.

Trust members said the route would be extended next year to include several lesser-known sites currently under restoration.
