Arif Rashid   JAMMU, AUG 14: In recognition of bravery and gallant service, 38 personnel of the Jammu and Kashmir Police have been awarded the Medal for Gallantry (GM) on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day.   The list includes senior police officers as well as personnel from different ranks who have been recognised for acts of courage and distinguished operational service.   Among the prominent awardees are DIG Pande Rajiv Omprakash, IPS; DIG Shiv Kumar, IPS; SSP Shobhit D. Saksena, IPS; SSP Mushtaq Ahmad; SP Nasir Ahmad and SP Divya D, IPS.   The gallantry honours also include recognition for personnel receiving additional bars to the medal. DySP Sarfaraz Bashir has been awarded the second bar to the Medal for Gallantry, while Head Constable Rayeesh Ahmad Reshi and Selection Grade Constable Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan have received the first bar to the gallantry medal.   The honours announced for...
