Pays Tribute to Freedom Fighters, Fallen Soldiers; Remembers Victims of Natural Calamities; Calls for Peaceful, Prosperous J&K Srinagar, Aug 15 : Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Saturday hoisted the National Flag at Lok Bhavan on the occasion of the country’s 80th Independence Day and paid rich tributes to the freedom fighters and security personnel who sacrificed their lives for the nation. Marking the Independence Day celebrations, the Lieutenant Governor joined citizens across the country in remembering the founding fathers and countless brave men and women whose sacrifices paved the way for India’s freedom. LG Sinha said the nation would always remain indebted to the valiant sons and daughters of Mother India who laid down their lives for the country’s independence, unity and integrity. He also paid homage to civilians who lost their lives in natural calamities during the year and expressed solidarity with the affected families....
