SRINAGAR (KIMS) — PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Friday expressed concern over the functioning of Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), alleging that the institution was being “systematically destroyed.” In a post on X, Mufti said the university, which she described as the only major university serving the Pir Panjal region, had faced a decade without regular recruitment, delayed salaries, contractual staffing, poor infrastructure and compromised academic standards. She said the situation was putting the future of students at risk and alleged that even the Chancellor had not visited the university. Mufti urged the NC government to “wake up” before an entire generation was made to pay the price, tagging Chief Minister Omar Abdullah and Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha in her post. — (KIMS)
