The National Green Tribunal has ordered the closure of 12 industrial units operating along the Yamuna floodplain in the Delhi-NCR region, citing untreated effluent discharge and construction within the river's regulated zone.

The order followed a joint inspection by pollution control officials and the Delhi Development Authority, which found several units operating without valid consent-to-operate certificates.

Industry associations said they would seek a review, arguing that some of the flagged units had applied for renewed clearances that remained pending with state authorities.
