Nepal's coalition government survived a no-confidence motion in Parliament by a narrow margin on Monday, after weeks of internal tension over ministry allocations among coalition partners.
The motion, brought by opposition parties, needed a simple majority to pass. The government prevailed after last-minute assurances to a smaller coalition partner over provincial development funding.
Analysts said the episode exposes ongoing fragility in the coalition, which has now survived two confidence votes within a year.
