Iran Claims Missile Strike on U.S.-Linked Air Base in Jordan; Amman Does Not Confirm Attack

Tensions in the Middle East have escalated once again after Iran launched a fresh wave of missile attacks. Iranian state media claims that a U.S.-linked air base in Jordan was targeted, but Jordanian authorities have not confirmed the claim.

According to Iranian state media, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) fired 10 missiles at the Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan.

Iranian media claimed that the base, which is linked to the United States, was destroyed in the attack.

However, Jordan has not confirmed the Iranian claims.

Jordanian officials said air raid sirens were activated across several areas after missiles were launched toward the country. The government stated that its air defence systems intercepted the incoming missiles and that the Jordanian Armed Forces have been placed on high alert.

Meanwhile, reports of multiple explosions also emerged from southern Iran, although Iranian authorities have not yet released official details regarding the cause of those blasts.

Military tensions between Iran and the United States have intensified in recent days, prompting several countries across the Middle East to strengthen security around their borders and military installations.

Iran maintains that it targeted a U.S.-linked air base in Jordan. Jordanian authorities, however, say the missiles were intercepted and that they cannot confirm Iran’s claims regarding damage to the air base.
