Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei has rejected allegations that Tehran is involved in Houthi operations in Yemen and offered mediation between Saudi Arabia and the Houthis.
“The Islamic Republic of Iran rejects the claim that it has any role in the actions carried out by the Houthis in Yemen,” Baghaei said in a statement.
Meanwhile, the Saudi-led military coalition announced on Friday evening that it had intercepted and destroyed four drones and three missiles over various parts of Saudi Arabia and the Red Sea.
The developments come amid heightened regional tensions and renewed concerns over security in and around the Red Sea.
