Yemen’s armed forces said Monday that government forces had carried out 356 precision operations against Houthi military positions and capabilities during the previous 24 hours, as fighting continued across several fronts.
Military spokesman Col. Majid Abdullah Al-Nazili said the operations targeted Houthi reinforcements, positions and military assets using what he described as a range of modern capabilities. The reported operations covered fronts including the western coast, Haradh, Al-Tuwal, Kitaf and Al-Buqaa, the Alab axis, Al-Jawf, Marib, Lahj, Taiz and Al-Bayda.
476 Houthi personnel reportedly killed or wounded
According to the Yemeni military’s field estimates, the operations resulted in 476 Houthi personnel being killed or wounded.
The military also said several Houthi command-and-control centres, weapons depots and field artillery positions were destroyed. A number of military vehicles and other equipment were also reportedly damaged or put out of service.
The casualty figures and battlefield damage were presented by the Yemeni government side and could not be independently verified.
Allegations over schools in Taiz
Al-Nazili also accused the Houthis of converting schools in Taiz into military facilities.
He specifically named Abu Ayyub Al-Ansari School and Hudhayfah bin Al-Yaman School, alleging that they had been used as command-and-control centres, weapons storage sites and military supply depots.
The military spokesman further accused the Houthis of continuing to operate from the schools while local families were required to send their children there. These allegations were presented as violations of international humanitarian law.
No immediate response from the Houthis to the latest Yemeni military statement was reported in the sources reviewed.
Fighting continues across multiple fronts
The latest announcement comes amid renewed fighting between Yemen’s government forces and the Houthis across several provinces, including Taiz, Lahj, Marib and Al-Jawf. Recent reports have also described continued clashes and government operations along Yemen’s western front near the Red Sea.
Yemen has remained divided by conflict since the Houthis seized Sanaa and large parts of the country in 2014. The conflict later drew in a Saudi-led coalition supporting Yemen’s internationally recognised government.
