NEW DELHI, September 17, 2026 — AALIMI NATION: President Droupadi Murmu, Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar on Thursday extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as he turned 76.
Modi, who was born on September 17, 1950, in Vadnagar, Gujarat, has completed more than 25 years in public life, including his tenure as Gujarat Chief Minister and his years as Prime Minister.
President Murmu, in her birthday message, highlighted what she described as new benchmarks in governance and momentum in inclusive development during Modi's public career. She also referred to India's efforts to combine modern development with its cultural heritage and wished the Prime Minister good health and a long life for continued public service.
Vice-President highlights development and digital transformation
Vice-President C. P. Radhakrishnan also conveyed his greetings, highlighting developments in sectors including space, technology, healthcare, infrastructure and manufacturing.
He referred to the government's focus on initiatives concerning Aspirational Districts, border and remote villages and the Northeast, while expressing his wishes for Modi's health and continued service toward the government's Viksit Bharat @ 2047 objective.
Om Birla highlights development and self-reliance
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla said India's profile on the global stage had evolved during Modi's tenure and highlighted areas including infrastructure, digital advancement, innovation, self-reliance and public welfare.
Birla also referred to Modi's more than 25 years in public life and his emphasis on development and support for vulnerable sections of society.
Rajnath Singh wishes PM Modi
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh also extended birthday greetings to the Prime Minister, referring to India's development goals and initiatives involving infrastructure, digital connectivity, welfare, innovation and entrepreneurship.
Singh said governance and public service had remained central themes of the country's development journey and wished Modi good health, long life and continued energy in the service of the nation.
Jaishankar extends birthday greetings
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar joined the birthday greetings, wishing the Prime Minister continued success, good health and many more years of public service. According to the report, Jaishankar also said Modi's ideas and achievements continued to inspire people internationally.
